Goal Profits Football Trading Review
Goal Profits is a well-established and respected football (soccer) trading service. It’s a platform for their members to learn how to trade football matches or to improve their existing trading. Our Goal Profits Review looks the multiple tools, tutorials and trading strategies they have to help users find and execute trades.
Goal Profits is NOT a tipping service in the conventional sense that gives all users a list of trades to copy. The Goal Profits approach is to help educate and develop traders so that they can use the tools themselves. To get full value from the service you will need to devote time and do some work yourself.
That doesn’t mean members are left to their own devices. There is a wealth of information available (see below) plus support is always available from professional traders Steve Brown and Kevin Laverick who run Goal Profits.
In their own words: –
“Want to trade football profitably on Betfair?
Whether you’re an experienced football trader or a complete beginner, we have the tools and community expertise you need to find success.
- Learn how to trade from scratch or transform existing results
- Follow top professional traders in our LIVE chat room
- Our Team Stats tool finds suitable trades in minutes
- Receive LIVE trade alerts by email or Telegram
- Trade all year round on football matches across the globe
No scams, fakes, or fantasy football… just an award-winning community backed by the support you need to succeed.“
When considering whether the service is right for you, it’s important you understand that you will only get out what you’re prepared to put in. This isn’t a set and forget service like following a tipster – although some of the trading strategies do lend themselves to automated trading using software like Fairbot.
If you’re prepared to learn how to trade and use the tools available with Goal Profits you’ll be on track to being a successful football trader. This is evidenced by the multiple awards that Goal Profits continues to win as voted by their members.

Recommended
I’ve been a member for several years. I have no hesitation to RECOMMEND their service if you are serious about trading football. In writing my Goal Profits Review and checking out all their content, it’s triggered a wealth of different trading angles I want to explore.
Goal Profits is all about giving members the tools to succeed. Members will need to make their own decisions about what to trade but are given the information and tools to do just that.
“Give a man a fish, and he will be hungry again tomorrow; teach him to catch a fish, and he will be richer all his life.”
Enough of the waffle, by now you probably want to know what you get access to as a Goal Profits member….
Goal Profits Review – Key Features
Before you get into the detail of the Goal Profits service I’ve summarised here the key features. This should help you get a feel for how the pieces fit together before you start delving into the detail.
Tutorials / Education
There is wealth of information available from Goal Profits. It would be easy to get lost amongst the statistics, live match updates, trading strategies, chat room etc. However, the GP team has put together a very structured introduction via their ‘Launchpad’ feature. It is split into Trading Basics, Trading for Beginners, Intermediate Trading and finally, Advanced trading.
The thing I really like about Launchpad is that in additional to all the tutorials it includes a lot of information to help you with your trading mindset. Many people try trading but give up saying the strategies don’t work etc. For many, the reality is that they were never going to succeed due to unrealistic targets, a lack of discipline, inconsistent staking, over-trading etc.
The Launchpad materials provide a great base to develop a structured approach to trading including the ability to deal with the inevitable losses.
If you invest the time to follow the Launchpad you’ll be well on your way with your football trading education. You’ll have learnt: –
- trading basics including a particular emphasis on trading psychology
- a wide variety of different ways to trade football
- how to use the Goal Profits Team Stats software
- the power of the Live Stats Module (LSM) and its integration with the GP Trading Strategies
- to receive real-time LSM notifications to your mobile/email based on your preferred trading strategies/scenarios
- how to combine the various features and start making informed trading decisions
Strategies
The Goal Profits strategies are split between 6 Beginner, 7 Intermediate & 4 Advanced Trading Strategies. Each one is explained in detail with multiple examples including some video examples. 12 of the trading strategies have daily shortlists which display fixtures which Team Stats suggests are most likely to produce the best trading opportunities.
Statistics / Historical Data – Team Stats
The strategy shortlists might be all you end up using to drive your football trading. They are based on the Goal Profits Team Stats software. However, when you’ve got to grips with Team Stats combined with the Launchpad training you are likely to think of many different ways to supplement the ‘standard’ trading strategies. In a summary it’s hard to know where to start so if you love statistics and how you might use them for trading check out the Team Stats section below.
Live Stats Module (LSM)
Real-time in-play statistics across all fixtures covered by Goal Profits. As a trader you’ll normally be looking for goals. So you want stats that show if the teams are actively trying to score. You can get in-play stats from sites like Flashscore but their data is limited to the first and second halves. The stats give an insight into

The Goal Profits Team recommend you spend your time going through each section. There are plenty of Goal Profits members who focus on trading with the Basic strategies. I’m sure all Goal Profits members will be aware of the Intermediate and Advanced trading strategies but it really is a question of finding what works for you. To do that you need to take your time and make sure you are comfortable and understand the content. Don’t worry, you’ll be ready to start paper trading or with small stakes before too long.
Think of it like learning to drive a car. You won’t be practicing reverse parking (Intermediate Trading??) in your first lesson and you’re not allowed to drive on a motorway (Advanced Trading) until you’ve passed your test!
As you work through Launchpad, it will explain the various trading strategies under Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Full details of these are found in the separate ‘Strategies’ area.
Goal Profits Strategies
Beginners Strategies

There are 6 Beginners Trading Strategies. When you click into a strategy, say ‘FH LTD’, you initially see a shortlist of matches which are potential qualifiers over the next few days. The shortlist displays fixtures which the Team Stats software (see more below) suggests are most likely to produce the best trading opportunities.
As with all the shortlists, you can show/hide fixtures according to the league type and kick-off time. This is a really useful way of narrowing down shortlists, especially at weekends. For example, if you can only trade in the evening, there’s no point looking at fixtures which kick off at other times.

There are full guides for each of the trading strategies. On the page for each strategy, the shortlist is shown first with the detailed guides below.
The guides explain the steps you need to take and triggers to look for before deciding whether to trade. Depending on the strategy there are a variety of different examples shown including some videos. The examples show you how to use Team Stats together with the Live Stats Module (LSM) to identify trading opportunities.
As you start to understand the different strategies, you’ll probably begin to get a feel for which you prefer. Some traders focus on trading the first half, others the second half. Do you want a list of potential matches to trade (FH LTD, SH LTD, Goal Attack, IP15) or use the Live Stats Module to flag potential trades (65/75 or M22 strategies)? The range of different Beginner Strategies is a great grounding in football trading.
Intermediate Strategies

The Intermediate Trading Strategies build on the Basic versions and also add a couple of Correct Score strategies.
Advanced Strategies

The Advanced Trading Strategies add further variety to your bank of potential trading strategies. The Advanced strategies typically look at angles to exploit the power of the Team Stats software.
Goal Value Table uses the software to identify ‘perceived value’ and how you can use the GP data to trade profitably.
Similarly, the Asian Handicap strategy uses Team Stats ‘Goal Supremacy Table’ for each league. This finds strong favourites and the best value Asian Handicap bets each days. These can be backed rather than traded although the bet liability can always be managed in-play.
The Contra strategy is as it sounds and is described as ‘In basic terms, it means going against below average recent performance, armed with the knowledge that it has to bounce back long-term’. Again, the Team Stats software creates a shortlist of qualifiers for the week ahead based on 4 different scenarios.
Team Stats
Team Stats was developed by Goal Profits and the software covers every fixture in 80 leagues worldwide. The team at Goal Profits claim it identifies trading opportunities that everyone else on Betfair misses completely.
At first the information can seem a bit overwhelming, particularly if you’re not into statistics. However, the GP Team do a great job of breaking it down into manageable pieces via the Launchpad training modules.
The main Team Stats page displays fixtures for today by default but fixtures for the next 6 days are available.

Team Stats Basic Filtering
The fixtures can be filtered based on several options: –
Select League Zones
- Leagues are grouped into European A, European B, European C, European Summer, Americas and Africa/Asia/Middle East. Most traders will focus on European A leagues such as the English Premiership, Spanish La Liga etc where there is more liquidity in the markets

Select League Status
- You can show/hide leagues at different points of the season. For example, you may wish to hide leagues in which less than 10% of regular season fixtures have been played as there won’t be much form yet.

Show/Hide by Kick-Off Time
- In addition, you can show/hide fixtures which kick-off at different times throughout the day by using the slider. For example, if you can only trade during an afternoon, you don’t need to see fixtures which kick-off at other times of the day.

Betfair Price Filters
- This is available when viewing fixtures for the current day. It allows you to filter out fixtures based on Betfair price. So for example, if you’re not interested in fixtures involving very strong home favourites you can quickly hide them. Filtering can be applied for Home, Draw or Away Match Odds prices, Both Teams to Score, Over 1.5 2.5 and 3.5 Goals

Show/Hide Stats Rows
- There are up to 9 rows of stats for each fixture! If you’re new to trading, it’s best to uncheck everything except maybe ‘Main Trading Stats’ and ‘Probabilities and Predictions’

- Create Custom Filters – This option allows you to take your filtering to the next level using the available conditions and parameters. For example, you can ask it to show you upcoming fixtures in which the home team has won the first half more than 50% of the time this season, or you can combine a number of conditions in order to build shortlists.
- Load Custom Filters – You will also have the option to save your custom filters, then load them with one click whenever you’re doing trade research. I’ll also show you how to use this option later on in the Intermediate section.
- Filter My Games – as well as preset filters, you can add any fixture to your own ‘My Games’ filter. This allows you to select ‘Display My Games’ in Team Stats, it also adds the fixture to the ‘My Games’ tab of the Live Stats Module (LSM). The ‘My Games’ function is really helpful. You can easily create a list of games which you’re interested in tracking as potential trades. There’s a Note option so you can also record why each game is on your My Games list.

Trading Stats
When you click on a fixture in Team Stats you see up to 9 rows of stats for that match. We’ve shown below the information for a single fixture which you can see is split into multiple different sections: –
- Main Trading Stats (MTS) – percentage of games which were 0-0, went Over 1.5/2.5/3.5 goals, Scored, Conceded, Average Goals Scored/Conceded etc
- Top/Bottom v Top/Bottom – as per Main Trading Stats but based on the 2 teams performances against teams in the top or bottom half of the league (depending on their current positions). This can be a great pointer to teams which raise or lower their game depending on their opponent’s league position.
- Probabilities and Predictions – a combination of goal probability calculations plus score predictions from several sources. There’s also head-to-head (HTH) results between the teams.
- Goal Times – includes total goals scored and conceded by team plus percentage goals scored and conceded during each 15 minute period. The final 2 columns also show how often goals have been scored late in each half.
- Goal Patterns – various stats including when the teams have gone ahead or conceded first and who scored the next goals
- League Table Analysis / Rolling LTA / Elite LTA – this is unique to Goal Profits and helps identify trading opportunities. They are based on relative previous performances by the opposing teams in each half, strength of their attacks and defences and current form.
- Goal Value Table – this is from the Advanced Strategies. It’s based on a comparison of the Goal Profits calculated fair odds against the current Betfair odds.

By now you should have a good feel for just how much information is in Team Stats. The additional value from the Goal Profits Team is their training and strategies to help you extract trading opportunities from the wealth of data.
Team Stats Goal Value – Quick Example
While writing this review, I noticed a match in the National League (one I follow) where the top team Halifax were playing Grimsby (10th). The Home Price of 2.46 stood out with a Green Tick from the Goal Value Table. I thought I’d check out the teams respective form (by clicking their names) to see if there was a trade or betting opportunity…

The results for Halifax show they have won 8 out of 10 of their Home matches. Looking at their results against teams in the top half, they’ve won 3 out of 4.

The results for Grimsby show they have lost half their Away games. They’ve lost their last 4 away and haven’t beaten any teams in the Top 11. With Goal Value Table showing a Betfair price of 2.46 for the Home Win, Halifax look a decent bet.

On this occasion the stats don’t lie and Halifax won the match 1-0! There are many ways to use the Goal Profits Stats and this is one I use quite a lot to highlight value home wins. I can either use the Goal Value Table Shortlist or maybe add some further refinements. It’s easy to create a Custom Filter to narrow the full Team Stats game list into a shortlist for further analysis.

League Tables
There’s more though in the League Tables section!
Here you can select any one of the c.80 leagues covered by Team Stats. You then have a choice of 20 different tables to display from ‘Full League Table’ through to ‘When the Away Team Scores First’.
The various League Tables can highlight a wide range of potential trading opportunities. There’s an example in Life After Matched Betting where I highlighted how sports statistics can be used to identify potential betting systems. The fixture was a match between Coventry and Fulham. Fulham went ahead and the TV coverage highlighted how Coventry had a record of gaining points after going ahead first. Exactly that happened and Coventry went on to win the match 4-1.
Using the GP League Tables for ‘When the Home / Away Team Scores First’ you can easily identify teams who have a past record of coming from behind or indeed giving up!
With 20 different Tables to choose, it won’t take long before you start coming up with your own angles.

Team Stats Database (TSD) / Team Stats Excel
The Team Stats Database has data going back to 2010 across 80 leagues with data from over 200,000 matches. It’s mainly going to be of use to advanced traders looking to develop their own ideas and systems.
Team Stats Excel is only available to Annual Goal Profits members. It pretty much does what it says! You can download the full historic match stats in .csv format and load to Excel (or equivalent software). As described by Goal Profits: –
Team Stats Excel converts the pages into .csv format which opens up many more possibilities. Perhaps you have your own selection filters and you want to use an Excel macro to automatically find qualifiers or you want to build up a database of results for researching new trading angles and strategies.
There are two files emailed out to Team Stats Excel subscribers each morning:
- Team Stats Daily: This file contains stats for all fixtures for the next 5 days.
- Team Stats Archive: This contains the same data as Team Stats Daily, plus results, goal times, pre-match Betfair prices and Live Stats Module stats. In other words, it allows you to build up a database of pre-game stats and also see exactly what happened during the games themselves.
The Team Stats Archive contains date, country, league, home team, away team, half-time score, full-time score, goal times, pre-match Betfair prices and then works through each Team Stats page – a total of 297 columns! They are labelled with each Team Stats page too, so you know exactly where each stat is taken from.
Live Stats Module
Using the in-play stats in Live Stats Module is a key aspect of Goal Profits trading. The Goal Profits team approach to trading is to often only get into a trade after the match starts. It allows you to check the in-play stats to make sure there is enough action in the game. It also means, based on their strategies, the odds will be better than at the start of the game.
What is the Live Stats Module?
There are 4 sections: –
- Scheduled Games.
- LIVE Games
- Finished Games
- My Games
LSM – Scheduled Games
This lists today’s matches in League order. It’s your daily long list of matches which you can then narrow down to a shortlist of potential matches to trade.
As standard in Team Stats, clicking on a Team Name shows the current season’s results for that team (examples for Halifax and Grimsby above).
Column Headings
‘Potential Trades’ shows qualifiers from the Goal Profits Strategy Shortlists. If there is a match you want to track for a particular strategy, you can click on the Green strategy button. That will add the match to your ‘My Games‘ list (details below) and enable in-play alerts for that strategy.
Matches are also added to ‘My Games‘ when you tick the checkbox for the fixture. In the graphic below, the matches at Gent and Brighton have been added to ‘My Games‘. There are more details about ‘My Games’ below but the concept is quite simple. When there are so many fixtures covered by Goal Profits, you’ll want to create your own shortlist of matches to potentially trade. You can add matches to ‘My Games’ via LSM-Scheduled Games as well as Team Stats.
‘1X2’ shows the current Betfair prices for the Home Win, Draw and Away Win.
‘Projections’ are shown for the 1X2 and Over/Under 2.5 Goals markets. Projections are determined by the 200,000+ historical results held in the Team Stats Database. Before kick-off, the LSM asks the Team Stats Database how many games in this particular league and between the same strength teams ended in a home win, draw, away win, over and under 2.5 goals.
‘Info’ has several different icons showing. A Betfair icon means there are current market prices for the Match and O/U 2.5 Goals markets. A cloud icon tells you weather information is available and a shirt icon indicates that there is team news. A list of injured and suspended players may be available well before kick-off (especially in larger leagues) and then the starting line-ups will come through closer to kick-off.
Notes (New!)
A recent very useful addition is the ability to add your own Notes to each fixture via the Pencil icon under ‘Info‘. Say you have selected several different matches which you are interested in potentially trading using a variety of strategies. Your notes can include particular triggers you’re looking for rather than having to keep a separate record.

Filtering Scheduled Games
Similar to Team Stats, the ‘Show Filters’ buttons allows filtering of the list of Scheduled Games using the following options: –
- Select League Zones – Leagues are grouped into European A, European B, European C, European Summer, Americas and Africa/Asia/Middle East – most traders will focus on European A leagues such as the English Premiership, Spanish La Liga etc where there is more liquidity in the markets
- Show/Hide by Kick-Off Time – you can show/hide fixtures which kick-off at different times throughout the day by using the slider. For example, if you can only trade during an afternoon, you don’t need to see fixtures which kick-off at other times of the day.
- Strategy Filters. There are 16 Goal Profits strategies to filter here. You can select those your prefer trading and create a shortlist for further analysis.

LSM – LIVE Games
LIVE Games does what you’d expect and shows the LSM stats for games that are in-play. It’s really like Livescore or Flashscore but with much more insight and the ability to get tailored trading notifications.
The Quick Filters option means you can receive real-time email or mobile notifications. These filters can be based on matches qualifying for Goal Profits strategies or games satisfying different criteria (e.g. Home Favourite 0-1). Quick Filter details below.

The example above shows a selection of stats, some should be fairly obvious others less so. The in-play stats are split between ‘Current Half’ and ‘Last 10 Minutes’. If you’re going to decide whether to enter a trade, knowing what’s been happening most recently is vital info. In your Settings, you can decide to show stats for the Last 5 or 10 Minutes and for the Current Half or Total Game.
Key Stats
The key stats you’ll be tracking are:-
- On: Shots on target
- Off: Shots off target
- Blk: Shots which were blocked
- In: Shots inside the penalty area
- Out: Shots outside the penalty area
- Cnr: Corners
- DA: Dangerous attacks
- Poss: Possession
- Rtg: This is a Rating calculated from the last 5/10 minutes of in-play stats, plus some seasonal indicators. When a goal is scored, at the start of the second half and after a red card has been shown, the Rating begins again from zero.
- Alerts: This column shows you which Goal Profits strategies the game currently qualifies for, plus added time at the end of the first and second half. On the ‘My Games’ tab, it also displays which filter sets a game qualifies for.
LSM LIVE Games – Quick Filters
On the LIVE Games tab you will find “Quick Filters”.
These allow you to track all live games for various scenarios. For example, you might want to see all games which qualify for the 65/75 and M22 strategies. You simply click on those buttons so they turn green and all qualifiers will show up as and when the qualifying criteria are met.
The top row of buttons allows you to filter by first/second half only. You can choose whether to apply Quick Filters to the LIVE Games tab or not. This is useful when setting email/Telegram alerts so you get real-time live game updates.
The second row of buttons is trading strategies and the bottom row is in-play scenarios.

In the example above, I can receive real-time notifications to my mobile via Telegram for all in-play matches which qualify for the 65/75 or M22 trading strategies.
It might be tempting to set notifications for quite a few different strategies or qualifying criteria. However, it is easy to end up with literally hundreds of notifications a day. My view is you really need to focus on quality not quantity with your notifications.
LSM – My Games
LSM My Games shows the shortlist of games you’ve created as potential matches to trade. You can select matches up to a week ahead i.e. as far ahead as the data in Team Stats.
The layout for My Games is the same as for LIVE Games: –

A key additional feature in My Games is the ‘Show Pro Filters‘ button in the top right corner.
My Games – Pro Filters
Pro Filters gives you the option to create up to 10 separate filters.
You can use these filters to further refine your shortlist plus send yourself real-time tailored notifications.
For example, you might want to be advised if a Home team is behind by one goal with 10 minutes to play but they are strongly on the attack. You can further refine this by referencing current or pre-match Betfair prices. See below for some of the filter parameters available under Pro Filters.

The Goal Profits team describe Pro Filters as follows:-
The filters are highly customisable, or can be as simple as hiding games with red cards. You don’t need these if you’re new to trading, but they can be useful on busy days.
Here are some filter ideas:
- Only show games which are 0-0 and in which the draw price is a maximum 2.00
- Show games in which the score is 0-1 and the home win was a maximum of 1.80 before kick-off
- Only show games in which both teams have a minimum Rating of 10 over the past 10 minutes
- Show games at 70 minutes or later in which the score is within 1 goal
There are infinite filter set ideas to play about with and the ‘Alerts’ column will show you which set each game qualifies for. They are colour coded too, so very easy to identify. You can switch individual filter sets on and off which allows you to hide qualifying games without having to clear the filter itself. Don’t forget to check the ‘Switch ON’ box after setting a filter or it won’t work!
Live Notifications via Telegram or Email Alerts
The Quick and Pro Filters are very useful when you are trading and checking out ‘LIVE Games’ or ‘My Games’. However, for me, the alerts are a brilliant feature.
LSM can send you an alert whenever a game you’re interested in meet the criteria you’ve set in the Quick or Pro Filters. Alerts can be sent either to your email address or via Telegram.
You can receive alerts for Quick Filters, Pro Filters or both. Alerts are enabled via the LSM Alert Settings shown below.

Support
With so much information available to Goal Profits members, you need to ensure you take your time with Launchpad. However, you aren’t just left alone without any support.
Chat Room
If you want to check out live trades, the chat room is very active and Kevin and Steve both trade live there. Steve sends out emails with details of upcoming trades with his CS4 correct score trading strategy. Enter the chat room at the published time and the GP team will explain what they are doing and why.

I’ve always found Steve and Kevin in the Goal Profits team very helpful if I have any questions. They provide excellent email member support with quick and clear responses.
The Goal Profits team send members regular emails walking through their trades for the day and the steps taken. They really do their best to help members understand how to trade including what to do when it goes against you.
Free Trading Workshops and Social Events
As an annual member, you will be able to book a seat at the Goal Profits trading workshops before anyone else. This means that you’re guaranteed to always secure a spot. Their last trading workshop was held in York in November 2019. Hopefully they’ll be able to arrange the next one during 2022.
How Much is Goal Profits?
The standard monthly prices for Goal Profits is £39.95 per month so it’s not a cheap service. However, the number of long-standing members and regular awards it wins is testament to the value the service provides.
As I’ve said elsewhere in our Goal Profits Review, successful members aren’t there for set and forget tipster style bets. The value is in the software, strategies and support to help members become successful football traders. BUT to do so you need to put in the hard yards. If you are prepared to invest time and effort, there’s no doubt Goal Profits can help you make regular profits from trading football matches.
If you want to get a feel for the Goal Profits service there is a £1 Trial for 7 Days. The Trial gives you access to the Beginner sections. The Intermediate and Advanced sections are opened up when you are a full member.

Summary
Well done if you’ve made it to the end of my Goal Profits Review! You can see there’s a hell of a lot to Goal Profits, hence the very long review.
I’m a big fan and highly Recommend the service. You might think it all looks a bit daunting and frankly while writing the review it did sometime seem it. However, follow Launchpad, take time to properly read the content and you’ll be up and running quickly.
Trading can be simple or complicated. Very profitable trading can be simple and most of the time it is. Goal Profits can help you find what type of trading works for you. The Goal Profits service can then support traders in developing their skills. Also, the Goal Profits tools allow you to identify trading opportunities and develop your own.
It’s not a cheap service but what you get for the price is great value. If you’re interested in giving it a try why not take up the £1 trial for 7 days and see what you think?
